Why use the Eloosafe tension clamp?

Hold on a second…

…Do you know how expensive this sentence can be? How often do the employees of your company move a pallet where there is a risk of the goods tipping over. In such cases, adhesive tape is sometimes applied around the entire pallet or an employee has to secure the goods by holding on to them. No matter what is done, you lose money..

Alternative: The Eloosafe transport safety clamp. It secures goods during internal transport or on construction sites where upright standing products are used.

Not only goods, but also the employees are protected. Perhaps you have already noticed a good breeze on the building site or at an open hall gate. This gust of wind is able to cause a glass pane to tilt. If a person stands or walks at the very spot where the heavy pane falls, very serious injuries can be the result.

The fact is, no matter what happens, the time you lose in repairing the damage alone is more expensive than the cost of the Eloosafe safety clamp.

Model overview of safety clamps

Model overview

The Eloosafe pane safety clamp is available in 2 different lengths and 3 different press-on versions.

Currently these include (soon also for metal racks):
ES-60-PAL = 60 cm long arm with 2 rollers.
ES-60-P-PAL = 60 cm long arm with continuous pressure profile
ES-60-PL-PAL = 60 cm long arm with press-on plate

ES-100-PAL = 100 cm long arm with 2 rolls.
ES-100-PAL = 100 cm long arm with continuous pressure profile
ES-100-PL-PAL = 100 cm long arm with pressure plate

Tension clamp with pressure rollers

Tension clamps version with pressure roller:
ES-60-PAL and ES-100-PAL

Due to the 2 pressure rollers, the risk of highlights on the product to be secured is reduced. The rollers are placed first on the product surface. If the pressure arm is pressed further or with more force against the product, the rollers simply turn with it. With the clamp with continuous profile (ES-..-P..) the pressure point would rub on the product surface. Furthermore, the distance between the two pressure rollers makes it possible to place the safety clamp on uneven or holed surfaces.

Tension clamp with continuous pressure profile

Tension clamps variant with continuous pressure profile:
ES-60-P-PAL and ES-100-P-PAL

The clamping arm of this safety clamp is equipped with the flexible PVC profile known from metal racks. The pressure point is not quite as punctual as with the disc clamp with rollers. The continuous profile offers the advantage that the clamp arm protects and secures your product even with smaller or lower products. However, the roller clamp can also offer this advantage if the clamping arm is covered with felt, for example.

Tension clamp with pressure plate

Tension clamps variant with pressure plate:
ES-60-PL-PAL and ES-100-PL-PAL

Our product securing clamp for pressure-sensitive surfaces / goods such as very sensitive, thin metal sheets or cardboard packaging. The 20 x 20 cm HPL pressure plate is made of 8 mm thick HPL and rotates due to the axial fixing on the clamp arm, always matching the product surface. We deliver the plate without any protection. This can be glued on individually. As an example you can see here 2 felt strips. Cork plates or a whole surface glued with felt, non-slip rubber … is certainly no problem.

Function of the Eloosafe glass clamp

Place tension clamp

How to use the glass pane clamp?

The Eloosafe clamp is simply pushed onto the top board of the Euro pallet and the two upright metal struts are pressed apart. The small metal clamp slides down in the same breath, allowing the clamp arm to maintain its pressure against the product. Done. The simple clamping mechanism not only provides safety but also saves an enormous amount of time.

Note: Power must be applied when pushing apart. But not too much!

Fixing and releasing

Fixing and releasing the tension clamp

As this is a “clamping”, force must be applied when pushing the upright standpipe and the movable clamping arm apart. To avoid damaging the product, this power should not be too great.

When releasing the clamp, press with the elbow against the product and with the hand against the upper end of the upright standpipe. In this way the clamping arm is relieved and therefore no longer exerts pressure on the product. The clamp iron, which has previously slipped down, can now be pushed up and the clamping arm returned to its original position.

Securing and flip through with pressure roller

We have already explained the range of application of the tension clamp with pressure roller above. Here now the example that the pane clamp can not only be used to press on / hold the product, but also to ” flip through ” all products.

Often the situation exists that different sizes of wooden panels, facade panels or glass panes are placed on the glass stillages and not the front pane is needed, but one from the middle or further back. You then simply flip through one panel after the other forwards against the safety clamp and can then remove the desired part.

Securing and flip through with pressure plate

Safety clamps with pressure plate are not only used for pressure-sensitive products such as cardboard packaging or thin plate material. As can be seen, the pressure plate can also be used for less sensitive surfaces.

The “flip through” function is used, for example, when goods that are not marked and have to be subsequently provided with stickers. If this involves glass plates which the employee often leans against his hip in order to apply a sticker to the next glass plate, too much strain can lead to the plates no longer being held in place and serious injuries can result.

Examples for the use of our safety clamp

Securing high glasses

Secure high glasses with the Eloosafe glass pane holder on Eloorac transport stillages.

In addition to the 60 cm small tension clamp, the use of the 100 cm long glass clamp is shown here. The combination of the short and the long safety clamp can also be realised. However, in our opinion, the long pane clamp is not absolutely necessary. Ultimately, it is a matter of securing windows, front doors, wooden panels or glass in the company or on the construction site. Therefore, particularly high loads are not to be expected.

Individual placement of the tension clamps

Eloosafe safety clamps can be placed individually.

The Eloosafe tension clamp can be placed individually on pallets. In the case of Euro pallets, our securing tool works on all deck boards as well as on the cross boards below.

It can also be used on special pallets or one-way pallets or one-way stillages. The only thing to be ensured is that the boards are not thicker than those of the Euro pallet.

Moving long plates safely

An approx. 4.5 metre long wooden board, which stands on an Eloorac transport rack, is held by the Eloosafe tension clamp and can thus be moved safely through the factory. Of course, especially with such long products, care must be taken to ensure that the clamp does not become loose due to the rather long lever caused by the large overhang from the pallet.

Securing special-shaped metal elements

The Eloosafe safety clamp in use in the metal industry. The clamp with pressure rollers can be more helpful in certain situations than the alternative Eloosafe models due to its greater pressure width.
