Eloorac glass transport rack as storage rack
The Eloorac glass transport rack is not only suitable for transporting glass to the customer, but also for use as a glass storage system. Glass manufacturers are provided with their own Eloorac glass racks. The glass is then suitably packed on the space-saving Eloorac glass racks. As soon as the goods are delivered to you as a retailer, for example, the full glass racks can be placed directly from the lorry into the warehouse. Repacking glasses is a thing of the past.
Some of these Eloorac glass racks are loaded with up to 2.1 tonnes of glass. No problem for the flexible transport system from Rietberg. Due to the sufficiently low design, it is possible to erect a second storage level directly above the first storage racks standing on the floor. This doubles the storage capacity and halves the storage costs in one fell swoop. That alone is reason enough to switch to the Eloorac glass transport system.
Basic information about our transport racks
The Eloorac transport rack system is particularly known for its flexibility. It is always possible to build a transport rack in the size that is currently required. The only thing you need to think about at the beginning is the height of the upright “A” parts, i.e. how high the transport frame is needed. Once a basic Eloorac model has been selected, it can be used to assemble transport frames of any length in the future. The illustration above shows the Eloorac transport frame in all its available and stocked heights. Which transport rack height is right for you?

Eloorac glass transport racks / glass frames in use
If glass doors are to be transported standing on their long edge, it is advisable to use a long pallet or two Euro pallets bound one behind the other. This ensures that the sensitive all-glass doors are protected.
Transporting glass on a single Europlate is much riskier than with a longer pallet or two Europlates placed one behind the other.
Securing Eloorac Glastrasport racks on the lorry. A 16-page load securing certificate is available. This is provided by Eloorac and can be presented as a technical document for police or BAG inspections.
The 3G Competence Centre in Fulda also offers training courses, seminars and further training as well as trade fairs and conferences on all aspects of load securing and transport logistics
In the course of the many ELOORAC presentations to our customers, it became clear how a product can still be sufficiently protected despite a wooden edge. These include soft wood fibre boards, double-layer corrugated cardboard, NMC NOMAPACK U12-18 foam profile, NMC NOMAPACK U Classic 10-20 foam profile, NMC NOMAPACK U Tulip 5-15 foam profile, self-adhesive foam pads and self-adhesive cork plates
Products can be attached to the Eloorac in a variety of ways. Most of the openings on an Eloorac transport rack are large enough to accommodate a 40×60 mm roof batten. These are often used in shipping departments. Due to the various openings in the A-parts of the glass racks, a wide variety of fastening options can be realised.
Optimum use of space due to Eloorac glass frames
Narrow or small glasses can only be transported standing on the long side of conventional glass frames. An example of this are shelves for shoe shops. These glass shelves are usually supplied in dimensions of 100 x 28 cm. However, a 28 cm narrow glass cannot be transported upright on glass racks. The Eloorac glass stillage enables the upright transport of narrow glasses. In this way, up to 66% of the transport area and transport costs can be saved.
The upright transport of glasses is the easiest and fastest way to save costs. Eloorac´s are intended for use on Euro pallets. They are 120 cm long. If you now place the all-glass doors upright on the Eloorac glass stillage, the space required for transport on the truck is significantly reduced.

Videos to the topic glass transport rack
Scene from the video “Tests” which was recorded at the VDZ test institute in Dortmund. This test simulates an emergency stop. The 1000 kg product slipped by just 3 mm.
“STABI” plate for stiffening
The stabilising plate shown does not have to be used. However, the plate makes a high Eloorac frame more stable as long as the goods are not attached to it. The effect of the plate and how it is fitted is shown in the “Stabilisation” video. The plates are generally not necessary for lower racks.

Special trips to construction sites to retrieve empty transport racks are a thing of the past
The Eloorac transport system as a glass transport frame is a good alternative to conventional metal frames. The big advantage of the Eloorac window transport frames is the easy return of the empty, dismantled frames.
Left half: Empty metal glass transport racks are a thorn in the side of every client and site manager. The retrieval is very time-consuming and therefore cost-intensive. Right half: After the glass has been installed on site, the fitter packs the dismantled glass transport frames into his assembly vehicle or onto the trailer. Advantage: Trucks no longer have to make the sometimes very long journey to the pick-up location. Once the assembly team has returned to the workshop or to the dealer, the Eloorac Transport racks can be easily stacked and temporarily stored.
Once several construction sites have been completed and a number of empty glass transport racks have been collected, either the glass manufacturer’s lorry or some standard haulage company can collect the pallets with the dismantled Eloorac transport racks from the dealer and transport them back to the glass manufacturer. Assuming that the lorries only make a single trip to the construction site to deliver the full glass transport racks and that no second trip to the same location to collect the empty racks is necessary, transport cost savings of around 30% – 50% can be expected.

Eloorac glass rack vs. one-way frame
Delivery on disposable racks is very costly.
Reason: Disposable wooden racks are only used ONCE. After that, the customer has to dispose of the wooden racks himself at great expense. Eloorac glass transport racks have demonstrably been reused well over 50 times.
Ultimately, the use of disposable racks means that a new glass rack has to be purchased, organised, stored and, above all, planned for every delivery. This means that unnecessary acquisition costs, storage costs, organisational and planning costs and transport costs for new disposable racks are incurred time and time again.
Eloorac glass frame vs. metal frame
The return of empty metal racks is very cost-intensive and bears no relation to the return of dismantled Eloorac glass racks. The argument that the lorries drive back anyway and can therefore take the empty metal racks with them is often not seen objectively enough. Consider this: lorries that drive around empty incur high costs. Even if they are carrying empty metal racks.
Alternatively, haulage companies are commissioned with the delivery. Eloorac transport racks are “haulage-friendly” due to the pallets used. By the way: haulage companies are adaptive. Many Eloorac users use haulage companies for deliveries.
This is annoying…
Empty transport racks that are forgotten on construction sites or are only collected weeks or months later. This is not uncommon. The damage that the industry has to bear here runs into the millions every year. We know of companies that charge 50,000 euros every year for lost and damaged glass transport racks. The question is whether 50,000 euros is such a small sum. Apparently, only a few companies change anything.

Great flexibility in the design of a glass transport rack
The Eloorac transport system can be seen as a kind of “Lego” system. The standard sets can be used to create window transport frames of any length. If you work with Euro pallets, they are simply connected with plastic tape. However, some Eloorac users have had their own large pallets made. In this way you will have more stable pallets, which are heavier due to their size.
Eloorac glass transport racks are different in many respects to glass racks from other glass transport system manufacturers. The Eloorac plug-in system is designed in such a way that glass transport racks for very narrow glass, for example, can be assembled and lashed down on a Euro pallet. This type of glass rack assembly has enormous advantages over other glass transport racks or metal racks.
The runway pull-out aid is used where there is insufficient storage space. If the glass pane or all-glass door to be removed is placed on the roller conveyor, it can be pulled out very easily. As it is no longer necessary for employees to climb into the rear areas, the pallets can be placed closer together.
The type and length of the lower runners of the Eloorac glass transport racks is similar to that of metal racks. You can obtain Eloorac´s as a double-sided loadable A-frame (A-frame) which we label as “M” variants, as well as the single-sided loadable L-frame (L-frame).

The pallet lifter “Beamer” – The tool for craneing glass frames
The “Beamer” pallet lifter, specially developed by Eloorac, enables pallets with Eloorac glass racks to be lifted easily and safely. The advantage of the 4-leg system is that the pallet is always balanced. Even an unevenly packed pallet can be safely craned with lifting straps of the same length.
