Important details about the Eloorac transport frame

The Eloorac transport rack system is especially known for its flexibility. At any time it is possible to build a transport rack in the size you need. Only the height of the upright “A” parts, i.e. how high the transport rack is needed, needs to be considered at the beginning. Once an Eloorac basic model has been chosen, it will be possible in future to assemble transport racks of any length in purely theoretical terms. The figure above shows the Eloorac transport frame in all its available and stocked heights. Which transport rack height is right for you?

The LEGO system among transport racks

The Eloorac transport system can be seen as a kind of “Lego” system. The standard sets can be used to create window transport frames of any length. If you work with Euro pallets, they are simply connected with plastic tape. However, some Eloorac users have had their own large pallets made. In this way you will have more stable pallets, which are heavier due to their size.
Imagine the situation in your company. You are faced with the task of transporting relatively narrow windows to the customer. With Eloorac you now have the possibility to build up a very narrow window transport frame. If you take the Euro pallet as a basis, your window transport frame can only be 80 cm wide. The next width would then be 120 cm. Let us now assume that you have to transport very wide window elements to the construction site. You simply assemble several standard window transport frames to a long one. This only takes a few minutes longer. But then you have a window transport frame which is according to your wishes and which your fitters or those of your customer can take back super simple, disassembled and space-saving from the building site.

Lifting very long pallets

Frequently asked question: I have several Eloorac Transport racks on Euro pallets, connected to each other. If I now drive the forklift truck under the pallets in the middle of the long side, will the outer pallets fall down? Answer: Since you attach the goods to be transported to the transport rack and normally attach additional belts that run above the rack and below the pallets, practically a complete package is tied. Your goods and e.g. the glass frame form a unit. Therefore the outer pallets do not fall down.
The Eloorac transport system has an inherent stability that makes it possible to lift even unloaded long racks.

Stability through products

An Eloorac Transport Rack makes a shaky impression at first. However, as soon as the product to be transported is attached to the transport rack, the Eloorac gets the desired stability. All pictures are excerpts from the video “Stabilisation”.

Alternative: Stabilizing plate

The alternative is the stabilization plate shown here. The “stabilization plate” does not necessarily have to be used, but makes a high Eloorac frame more stable as long as the product to be transported is not yet attached to it.

Assembly of the transport frame

Tested fastening with PET strap: When assembling an Eloorac Transport rack, only fasteners are used, which are usually also used to secure the goods. Fastening or assembly is very simple and quick. The fastening with PET plastic straps has been tested and proven. These are processed with lashing devices. An Eloorac transport rack can be attached to a Euro pallet in less than 1.5 minutes.

Alternative mounting option

Alternative fastening (not tested): As lashing devices are not always available, it is possible to work with screwed connections. By using a screw and a flat bar with threaded holes, the Eloorac frame is clamped to the pallet. This fastening method has not been tested but is surprisingly stable. You could also use tension belts.

Possible pallet joints

PET tape is usually used to join pallets together. However, since it cannot be assumed that everyone has a lashing device available for processing the PET tape, we will show you alternative connection options here. Especially when used in the trade on the construction site or in trade fair construction, the use of tension belts or the connection plates from Eloorac is the better way to connect pallets with each other. If the steerable and braked Eloowheel castors are also used, the perfect transport frame for e.g. glass, railings, wooden panels or furniture parts is assembled.

Possible attachments

Products can be attached to the Eloorac in many different ways. Most openings on an Eloorac transport rack are large enough to accommodate a 40×60 mm roof batten. These are often used in the shipping departments. Due to the different openings in the A-parts of the glass frames, the most diverse fastening options can be implemented.

Close distance

Here it is easy to see that the distance of the upright A-parts can be very narrow due to the slots in the cross bars. The standard crossbar, which is usually used with an Eloorac transport rack, allows a minimum distance of approx. 15 cm. This gives the possibility of transporting even narrow glasses upright. Compared to conventional glass frames, the Eloorac glass stillage can save enormous transport costs. The glasses shown show glass shelves for a shoe shop.

ELOORAC test with over 1000 kg of heavy glass load

The picture shows the test that Eloorac had to pass with its transport rack. 32 all-glass doors were placed on the wooden frame and professionally fastened.
This test simulates full truck braking. Eloorac transport racks are provided with different openings. The lower cutout with the 2 upright slots serves to secure the goods on the transport rack. The securing belt runs in front of the goods, through the 2 slots and under the pallet. If this securing technique is used on both sides of the transport system, the goods are always forced to the middle of the pallet and can therefore no longer slip off the transport rack. In this test, the goods weighing 1000 kg moved by only 3 mm due to the type of securing.

High load capacity

Eloorac transport racks are very stable when, for example, the load is high when cornering, i. e. in a horizontal direction. The figure on the right shows that a single upright cheek of an Eloorac transport rack has a load capacity of approx. 500 kg when the goods are 1.3 metres high. A standard transport rack, consisting of 2 upright cheeks, carries 1,000 kg. A transport rack with 3 upright cheeks can then be loaded with min. 1,500 kg. More information about the load capacity of an Eloorac transport frame can be found here on the FAQ page: Load capacity transport frame

Simple return

Retrieve the transport racks. After the goods have been removed from the transport rack, it can be dismantled on the construction site, for example, and simply placed in the assembly vehicle. The Eloorac´s is collected in the workshop and, if necessary, collected for reuse.

Your name + logo

Your individual logo on your Eloorac transport frame. The screen printing technique allows filigree lettering to be printed on the Eloorac transport frame. In order to stick your own Barcodes on the transport system, you need a smooth plastic surface which is available as an option.

Order no. easily explained

Here is an example how the article number of a ready Eloorac transport rack set is composed. The article number contains the height of the “A”part, the length of the lower runner and the type and length of the crossbar that holds the upright cheek pieces together.
For special applications such as the transport of insulating glass or windows, it makes sense to equip the lower runner with a wedge which then creates a right angle. In the case of fire resistant glass, for example, this 90° angle is absolutely important.

Crossbar Types

A distinction is made between 2 different types of cross-lites for Eloorac Transport racks. On the one hand there is the standard crossbar “Q” (right) and the more stable T crossbar “QT” (left). The standard crossbar is only used to keep the upright A-pieces or cheek pieces apart. However, as soon as you want to secure an Eloorac on the truck and the goods must not be damaged, the more stable QT bar is used. The T-rail also has the advantage that windows, for example, can be attached very well to it.

Various crossbars

Eloorac crossbars are used to connect the upright side parts of the Eloorac transport frame with each other. These are provided with slots at certain intervals. These slots ultimately also influence the structure of the Elooracc frame. There are 2 different types of crossbars. This is the standard “Q” bar and the more stable “QT” bar.
The advantage of the “QT” crossbar is that a tension belt can be installed over it (see illustration). Different lengths of crossbars are available. Very often the “QT120” crossbar is used. This is as long as a Euro pallet. For this reason, it can be used to place and connect any number of Euro pallets in succession.

Different runner lengths

The Eloorac transport rack has been developed for use on Euro pallets. Since the Euro pallet has a dimension of 120 x 80 cm, the lower runners of the Eloorac frame are manufactured in the same length. If the Euro pallets are placed at right angles to each other, there is the longer runner variant “160”. The placement of the A-parts on the runner is extended by the letters “M” and “L”. “M” means that the A-part sits int the MIDDLE of the runner. “L” means that the A-part is placed off-center, so that a frame in L-shape is created.
For the models “D5” + “T4” the version “CE” is still available. This is used when individual products are placed on the Eloorac transport rack on one side. The centre of gravity of the goods is then in the area of the middle of a Euro pallet so that it does not fall over so quickly when it is moved by a forklift truck that enters the narrow side of the pallet.

Connecting pallets

Frequently asked question: How do we join the pallets? The illustration is intended to provide clarity. On the left part of the picture, 2 Euro pallets are joined together in length. The right part of the picture shows how 2 Euro pallets are connected crosswise. No, don’t be afraid. The pallets will not sag when the stacker lifts the Euro pallets. If the goods are properly secured on pallets, it is like a tied package. The glass will certainly not sag.

Fixing 120′ runners

When attaching the long “120”runners to a Euro pallet, make sure that the PET goes over the middle board of the Europool pallet. If this is not done, the PET plastic strap hangs in the air below the pallet. Thus, there is a great danger that the PET belts will be damaged when the forks are retracted.

Detail transport frame tip

Eloorac transport racks are manufactured in two different basic models. The “T-models” have only one slot at the top of the A-part. This is specially designed for the more stable T-bar. The T-bar also fits into the other Eloorac frame models like the C5, D5… although their cut-outs have a different shape. The different apertures offer different ways of fixing the product.

Product protection at the rack

In the course of the many ELOORAC presentations to our customers, it became clear how a product can still be sufficiently protected despite a wooden edge. This includes soft wood fibre boards, double-layered corrugated cardboard, NMC NOMAPACK U12-18 foam profile, NMC NOMAPACK U Classic 10-20 foam profile, NMC NOMAPACK U Tulip 5-15 foam profile, self-adhesive foam pads and self-adhesive cork plates.

Width of contact surface

The more stable “T” crossbar cannot only be placed at the top of the frame. If these are placed on the side of the transport frame, wide, horizontal contact surfaces are created which could be useful for certain sensitive products.

On this page you will find an overview of the transport rack, storage rack, window rack & glass rack models.
